Infinitum

This piece frames life as the boulder Sisyphus endlessly lifts, questioning death through AI-recited poetry. It combines the towering figure formed by two actors with the meaningless act of walking and repetition, creating a "spectacle-like" dynamic sculpture. The work aims to reflect on the connection between immortality and death, as well as the meaning of death itself.

Poetry lines:

Look!

Sisyphus keeps moving

When did you start thinking about death?

From genetic awareness?

From the remains of your loved ones?

Or perhaps apparent senility?

Or Othello's manslaughter?

Or Ophelia falling into the river?

The Martyrdom of Romeo and Juliet?

To be or not to be?

Or let the moment dance on?

Look!

Sisyphus keeps moving

Do you want to live forever?

Stumbling under the weight of life

Do you wish to live forever?

Spending endless nights until the end?

Or do you choose to become virtual, to lose your physical body, and to exist as data post-humanity? Immortality.

Like Sisyphus?

Like me?

Like an artificial intelligence?

Look!

Sisyphus keeps moving!

Where will you go after an eternity of mankind?

Revolution?

To approve fears and illusions that reside in the death of poetry, theories, and graveyards?

Travelling?

To see every civilisation? Every country? Every mountain? Every sea? Every wind?

and then, what?

Wait to see your

children grow up?

Then their children?

Then their children’s children?

And then what?

Save Earth from destruction?

Perhaps build a Noah's Ark that travels through the universe?

And then what?

In the endless void and chaos?

And then what?

Emptiness.

And then what?

Look!

Sisyphus is always moving!

Perhaps death has given you some meaning?

Is there a vessel to contain this abyss of desire?

An interest in something new?

Compassion for life?

Spite for war?

A celebration of humanity’s sacrifice?

Pride in one's own will?

Perhaps Love?

Perhaps Life?

Perhaps a purpose?

Look!

Sisyphus is still moving!

Look!

Sisyphus is always moving!

Look!

Look!

Or stop?
